Cary Stamp, CFP®, CDFA™, Shares Insights to Advising Women During Divorce at the Association of Divorce Financial Planners’ 2014 Catalyst Conference, Oct. 13-15

September 29 2014

Cary Stamp of Tequesta-based Cary Stamp & Company, CFP®, CDFA™, will share his expertise in wealth management for women experiencing divorce at the 2014 Catalyst Conference in San Diego, CA. The 2014 Catalyst Conference is the 12th annual conference of the Association of Divorce Financial Planners, of which Mr. Stamp is a member. From Oct. 13-15, the conference will welcome approximately 130 of the top financial professionals from across the country who specialize in divorce.

On Oct. 14, Mr. Stamp will present “Women, Money and Divorce: Developing A Niche Within A Niche,” alongside Trisha Miller, CFP®, of W.P. Carey & Co. They will discuss why transitional stages are opportune times to focus on the financial health of female clients. An expert in advising women on their wealth during divorce and widowhood, Mr. Stamp has developed a proprietary process, called “The Whole New Life Plan™,” which is an interactive series of thought-provoking exercises that assists clients with envisioning their new lives.

“I developed our proprietary process in 2006 because we saw that, as women went through divorce, they needed assistance in making decisions about significant financial issues,” Mr. Stamp said. “In many cases, for the first time, they were put in a position of having to understand investments, mortgages, taxes, insurance and other wealth management matters.

“Many times, in long-term marriages, the parties have one designated person who handles the finances, and that is usually the husband. When the marriage dissolves, we help the wife take control in this area.”

Highly regarded in his field, Mr. Stamp is regularly referred by divorce attorneys who feel their clients would benefit from his advice. A Certified Financial Planner™ professional and Certified Divorce Financial Analyst™, he speaks frequently at Florida Bar Association meetings and stays abreast of legal trends at Bar Family Law Section conferences. He also annually attends the Matrimonial Lawyers Certification Review, has been trained in the practice of Collaborative Divorce by the Collaborative Family Law Institute and has served as a board member of the Collaborative Divorce Team of Palm Beach County.

The 2014 Catalyst Conference at the Westin San Diego includes the ADFP Pre-Conference Institute on October 13 followed by two days of conference programming on October 14-15.  The annual Catalyst Conference offers comprehensive divorce financial planning education and the opportunity to network with leading divorce financial planning professionals.
